"Coby MP3 black"
This is a great first MP3 player. It is easy to use,and their customer service is wonderful.

"Battery died totally after 9 months."
Can only use when plugged in. Can't replace the battery.
Menus clunky, no playlists. Done with Coby.

"This mp3 player is $20 too expensive"
I bought it because it had a low price and had the features I wanted. When I received it the first thing I noticed was it didn't look like the picture on amazon yet the features were all still the same. I didn't mind that because I didn't buy it for the looks. It isn't ugly but it's just not as sleek looking as the Amazon picture. The second thing I noticed was it was very light and felt like i could snap it with two fingers. I plugged it into my computer and once it was fully charged I downloaded emusic, (which is basically Coby's itunes). Once I had all my music onto that application, (an hour later) I began syncing it to my new mp3 player. It took about 45-60 minutes to sync 1.5 GB of music. Anyway once that was finished I turned on my Coby and browsed my music. Let me tell you it takes a long time to scroll down to the bottom of your music; that was a big issue with me. The battery lasted only one hour so I plugged it back in until it said charge complete and the battery still gave up quickly. The screen quality sucks so don't bother putting pictures or movies (MTV fromat only) on it because it will be so pixelated that you wont be able to see whats going on. I have 20-20 vision, the screen size has nothing to do with it. Another note is the FM radion. Once you get to a station the signal is usually clear but getting there will take up to a minute however as tuning is very slow.

I do not recommend this product. If you want a cheap MP3 player you'd be way better off buying a $10 4gb memory card for your phone.

"Poorly thought out"
Buttons are nice, price is low.

It doesn't organize your tracks. You can't look for albums by an artist. If you try to play an audiobook it gives you the tracks in random order. This is stupid. Five years ago it was very easy to follow ID3 tags: start at 1 and then play the next one. Anyone whose product can't do this is not bothering with their customers.

"Pretty Good"
If your are going to buy one of the Coby MP3 players make sure that you buy the one with buttons not the one with the knock off ipod wheel, the player with buttons is much better and has a few more features and the price is about the same i think.
