"Can't Stop The Rock"
I got this as a replacement for my Ipod as I couldn't afford to buy a new one and was ready for something new and different. Over all I think it is a great MP3 player but there are a few things I don't like about it.I recommend you read the basic list of things for a somewhat better idea of the product.

Note to reader: There are several versions of this player,YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHICH UNTIL YOU BUY ONE. Any thing with V1 next to it or mentioned means it is something that sucks about the version one (which I got stuck with, but not that it is a big deal).

Design:
Pros:
-Same dimensions iPod just thicker
-Larger screen
-Compact
-User changeable battery :)
-upgradable memory (micro sd cards)
-cool blue led turn wheel
-Voice recording
-RECORDABLE FM radio
-Supports pictures and video

Cons:
-Because of the turn wheel the buttons are hard to press and are sometimes unresponsive
-Only UP To 2G sd cards (V1)
-Battery life is good but not as good as iPod
-large record button that can get in the way

Quality:
Pros:
-Durable build
-EXCELLENT SOUND QUALITY HANDS DOWN
-Bright color display (adjustable)
-Good video playback and picture viewing

Cons:
Slow start up and is slow between menus(lags) (V1)

Settings and Features:
Pros:
-Display brightness adjustment
-USB modes (for manual management or Synchronizing)
-Very good EQ
-Recordable radio
-Voice recording
-Anything recorded can be extracted as a MP3 file

Cons:
-V1's can't disable "Record" button
-No formatting or file deletion on the Sansa E260

"Excellent purchase for the price (or any price)"
I purchased this item out of necessity, but found that it was the ideal single-purpose device. It doesn't surf the Web, it isn't suited to watch full-length movies. If you want to listen to audiobooks, music or, the radio this works great! I haven't found a reason to use the voice recorder, but I like having the option available should I need it.
¤

"Lasted a year and a half"
Great for the price - I played this thing EVERYDAY for about a year and a half, dropped it, lost it, found it, kicked it (accidently), spilled beer on it, and god knows what else, It was a real trooper. I had a cheapo case and a real good set of earbuds (went through 3 sets) - when it finally petered out. It only has 250MB available when after I emptied it. I just ordered the 4GB Fuze, and going to get the micro card, since it's new tech. I think I'll take better care with the new one. .....but for $60, we'll just have to see!
¤

"Great mp3 Player"
I love the mp3 player. But I didn't know I had to install updates in order to make it work properly.
¤

"Designed to Fail; I should have known!"
It worked OK for about two weeks, then the music I had loaded onto it started skipping and popping. Songs even began to disappear! I tried to reload music and noticed mysterious unremovable files and folders in the player. Finally the firmware that runs the player crapped out. When I tried to find the firmware on Sansa's website it had been discontinued or made unavailable. So this all was an $85 education in hard knocks. Never again will I buy anything made by Sansa.

"Great sound, great battery, great player."
I got this MP3 player about 2 years ago now, and it's still working as good as the day I took it out of the box. I've dropped it more times than I can remember and it's still kicking. Granted I have a nice silcon case on it, but still after two years of abuse for it to even be in one piece is amazing.I use this player everyday. Mostly to fall asleep to a book. The sound quality is excellent, and the battery life is the best of any I've ever owned. Sony rates it at about 24 hours battery life, just out of curiosity I let it play and it didn't die for well over 36 hours. I've not used this too much with video, honestly that's not what I got it for though. I mostly use it for audiobooks/music. It's very simple to load and remove songs. I ordered one of these for my dad, and he's not the most computer savvy person, and he has no problems with it. It's pretty much plug in, click, and go. The space on it is sufficient for me. I have 8 books on it at the moment(one of the books is 37 hours), as well as about 600 songs and still could fit some more.If you need a player for video, I'd opt for something more than 8gb, but for just music it's enough. The only downside I've ever found with this player is the innability to make playlists on the go. The player before this had that function and it was nice to be able to pic a playlist from my songs to fit my current mood, but that's a tiny issue. So all in all, I'd recommend this player to just about anyone.

"expensive"
i really dont understand why it costs so much on amazon. its a really good mp3 player but i wasnt willing to spend that much on it. so i bought a refurbished one. it hasnt arrived yet but i know its good because i used to have one until it got stolen. (i guess thats how good it is). but i would definently recommend this to anyone, just not for $90.00. thats outrageous. but great overall.

"Sony Walkman MP3"
All in all a very good product. Playlists are incredibly hard to make but it has very good battery life.

"Frozen after 4 months"
Having bought a lot of Sansa products in the past I decided to try a Sony instead. Unfortunately my experience with this player has not been good. After using it occasionally for the first 3 months I finally decided to load it up and listen to it while working in the garage. I put about 4Gb of music onboard and I listened for a few hours. I then brought the unit inside to charge and it never worked again. It gets stuck at the "every moment has its music" splash screen and does nothing else. I tried hard resetting the unit, and reflashing the firmware but no good. I contacted Sony's online support and they said it needed to be repaired and pointed me to the Sony warranty site. Well little did I know that the warranty on this unit only covers the parts and not labor. The warranty call is $29, and they will provide an exchange unit (it's not actually repaired). Sorry SONY but that isn't good enough. I expect to have in-warranty repairs done for free, as it appears to be down to bad flash or faulty firmware.

Folks use your favorite search engine and look up freezing issues with these units before you buy. There's a surprising amount out there and no solutions. Vote with your dollars and buy something different.

"Cheap design, not good for use in the car"
I primarily use my MP3 player in the car while driving, so i need a player that will function with out problems as well as be easy enought to use so i don't have to take my eyes off the road to change songs, this player is not meant for that. the recessed touch screen makes it nearly impossible for someone like my self with larger fingers to get the little buttons to work with out the stylus. This player felt rather cheap in my hands compared to the philips that i had been using. i had loaded my entire collection of music on to the player (about 3,000 songs) and the player seemed very slow to transition from song to song. I also was not crazy about the back ground images that came with this player (again they just weren't for me) this player might be good for a small child / teenager, maybe i would have liked it better if i were 15 years younger. i ended up returning this player and rec'd a quick refund, i ended up buying a sony 16gb player and this suited my needs much better. Thanks to Amazon for a quick response to my issues with this player.

"THIS IS A PIECE OF JUNK!!!!!!!!!! >:("
THIS IS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY. It only lasted for 8 days before the screen died and it didn't work at all. This doesn't work at all. It can't even play iTunes downloads. It doesn't play any widely downloadable formats (mp4 etc...). The sound is alright but there is a huge lag in the sound (2 seconds). The instruction booklet doesn't use proper english or spelling. I mean, how hard is it to press the #*$%! spell check button. There is also a couple of REALLY sucky jokes on a part that don't use spelling or grammar that a fourth grader could use properly. It is a cheesy waste of money that could be better spent on an iPod. The only reason that it is so inexpensive is because it is going to fall apart a matter of days after you buy it. You can't download ANY games onto it. I bought it for games and videos. The videos have a huge audio lag and the games can't be downloaded. I think you should NOT buy this P.O.S. unless you want to be scammed by a 3rd rate company that will take you for a sucker and cheat you out of hard earned money that could be spent on something worthwhile (ex: videogame, starting money for an iPod touch, a bunch of books(don't judge me. I like to read), or something). The video quality is grainy even if you download an HD movie onto it. The songs don't play by artist it is in alpha-numerical(number of the song for those that are numbered and the song itself for those that aren't)order. The radio has NO range at all and it doesn't pick up channels that my brother's Walkman can pick up with no static at all from the exact same spot in a room. It comes with the most cheesy pair of headphones that you will ever get. You can't hear them if there is any noise but the person next to you can hear them better than you can and you are constantly being told to "turn it down". If I can save you from buying a worthless piece of crap I will have done a good deed for the day.

If there are any spelling mistakes I am sorry. It is late and I am tired and mad. I hope I don't sound critical and don't crush anyone's dreams of owning one of these lovely pieces of junk.

P.S. I am only 14 and I can rant about this piece of crap for that long. Well, I hope I helped someone out there. The mp whatever was hardly used at all and was kept in a safe place at all times. Believe me. I've kept an original nintendo D.S. (early 2000s) alive in good shape for this long with heavy use and a lot of playing time on the way to vacations(2.5+ hours each way).

For any and all of you that have read this good luck and DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE.

"I RECEIVED A DUD!"
I purchased this because I wanted to replace my IPOD. You could tell right away from the feel of it that it was not as well built as the IPOD. I tried to charge it and after 2 hours I could play it while being plugged in. I decided to see if I could load some songs to it and plugged it into my computer. When I did the computer didn't recognize it. I then decided to keep charging it, however, it did not take a charge after 12 hours of it being plugged in. What a bummer, I was thoroughly disappointed. I have to return it and I will not ever buy this item again.Pro Ebiz NEW 16gb 3" TFT Touchscreen Mp3 / Mp4 / Mp5 Player (Plays Avi/rm/rmvb/flv Without Conversion)

"Worth Every Penny"
I love this player. Love it. It's my favorite player that I've ever owned (at least 6). I use it constantly and will continue to until I buy my Nexus 1 in a few months, which will become my new player as well as my phone. After that, this will become my MP3 jukebox for my livingroom stereo. Read the other reviews, weed out the reviews of confused people, make note of the customer support replies to a few complaints in the reviews, make notes about the reviews that comment about the customer service, then buy this player. Off-brand electronics are hit or miss, and I'm as apprehensive as anyone, but I took a chance and didn't get burned on this one. It is everything it is advertised to be.

About the reviews... Ok, I read all of the reviews before I decided to purchase this player. Most of the bad reviews seemed to be more about confused people than about a bad product. I found this out myself. The player is Awesome! Like several reviewers, I found that the included USB cable was junk. Just throw it out, as it is a super-common, inexpensive, standard cable anyway. I already had 5 of them laying around the house from other old players and digital cameras, so I really didn't care. It only costs like $5 to replace anyway.

On to the player, aside from the cable, I had no issues whatsoever with this player. You don't know how many times it has fallen out of my shirt pocket while gardening or out of my jacket while I was running to catch a train. It landed on the concrete, skidded, got a little ugly, but still worked flawlessly every time. For the price, it can't be beat.

The screen is a resistive touch screen, not a capacitive one (ipod touch for example), so you do have to actually touch the screen firmly. I like this, because I know that I'm only doing what I mean to do on the screen, since a casual grazing won't do much (to a point).

While the contrast/brightness may be a little low for some movies, the video playback is great. In fact, I watch videos while I wait for my laundry or while I wait for a bus/train (in the evening). It isn't day-light readable (it also doesn't claim to be), which is a problem on bright days, but not so bad on an overcast day. Battery life is great, in fact it lasts at least double what my old player did and doesn't drain the battery when off (also unlike my last player - RCA). While it doesn't play when connected to the PC (no player does, so this is normal), this DOES play while plugged into the wall charging (again, unlike my last player), so if all you want to do is load it then play it and keep charging this will work great. I plugged it in for a long trip and listened to it the whole trip (amtrak) and still got to have a full battery when I arrived (my old one would be dead by then). The included USB wall adapter was a great touch. Thankfully, my motorola bluetooth headset uses the same usb connection to charge, so I can use that wall charger for this as well, allowing me to have a charger at work and home.

It does not support PDF files (perhaps future models will?), it's menu is a little odd at times, but no more-so than other products I've used (mostly name-brand).

I recommended this to a co-worker, who bought one of the other models and loves it too. In fact, she thanks me for the referral weekly.

"Perfect for the gym"
I didn't want something too big or too expensive to use at the gym to this is perfect. This is another one that I bought for my friend, but I've had mine for a few years and it still keeps on ticking. It did freeze up on me once, but you have to hold the middle button with the "+" volume button to reset it. I had to look it up to figure it out. Other than that, works great!

"Great product"
I've tried many mp3 players, this one its good for what it is
As a secondary, not to intensive use, not expecting great sound quality
Good relation cost/benefit, just that.
Enjoy

"Small mp3 ."
So I bought this the Sansa for my fitness training. First thing i noticed that it was very little, the battery life is good, it depends how loud you listen. Since i listen mostly in the car though AUX, i tend to drain the battery a little faster. The use is very simple. Plus the expandable micro SD slot is the best (i use additional 4Gb on top of the 2 Gb).And it has a great price, great job Amazon.:-)

"I should have read the reviews before purchase!"
I was please with this product for the first few months. Even if I had to charge the battery daily, it was a nice portable unit, and the size is outstanding.
However, when I deleted songs off of it today, and replaced with new titles, I unplugged it from the computer, and the unit went blank. It will no longer turn on.
Spend a bit more of your hard earned money, and get something that will last longer.

"Great item for the money"
everything about this MP3 player is good except for:
A) The navigation ring is to small. So when I tried to use it I kept hitting other buttons too. So if you have big fingers you will have to use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through your play list which takes forever!
B) The battery life is a joke! Mine lasts two days at best. So I gave it to my girlfriend.
¤

"Don't waste your money"
I bought this product as a gift for my daughter. She opened the box and the first thing she did was drop it. Guess what, it broke open. I tried to get in touch with the seller in order to see if I can get it fixed. I was even willing to pay for this. I told them exactly what happened. The person who responded from Amazon was very kind and said I should contact the seller and they will fix it or replace it. Then it all fell apart. After staying on the seller's automated answering service for an extended period of time, I received a very rude response from an operator. After several such attempts I gave up trying. I basically have to live with the fact that I threw away about 50 dollars in the garbage pail. I also decided to warn others who are considering buying this product to not waste their money. But if you still want to take your chances, make sure you never ever drop it.
¤

"good product"
this product is easy to use,its touch screen is awsome, its very light weight very easy to put in your pocket with your cell phone sound is amazing the only thing is the life of the battery it doesnt really last a very long time i think it lasts about 3 to 4 hours, but i use it to go to sleep on and to clean around the house so it that works great for me i wasnt looking for really long lasting battery as long as i had one that i could listen to music on,as far as videos im not sure how to do that yet,but everything else was great.
¤

"do not buy!"
i bought this and i was so excited. it looked great and had an awesome touchpad. i downloaded my music on it and had around 4 days of happy listening until randomly, out of the blue it wouldnt turn on. it wasnt the battery because i had charged it. i dont know exactly what was wrong with it but i returned it! oh and also the on switch was loose even when it worked fine ( as in the plastic cover was falling off) DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! it has made me distrst coby alot but i am giving them another chance and will see how that goes.
¤

"what an utter POS!"
i bought this very same mp3 player elsewhere. it is difficult to load songs to, it's slow, and after about 2 weeks? i get the blue screen of death. it says "coby.....starting" and nothing else. nada. i will not be buying a coby item EVER again. i had thought they were a decent co. but their customer service? might as well fart in a tornado for all the help i got. which is to say they hung up on me, after i waited a half hour on hold! oh by the way Emily @coby's "help" center? i hope you got fired quick. i have here a lovely paperweight that cost way more than it was worth. useless. and the worst part was? this was for my daughter for her birthday. i have a BBB complaint against the company and still nothing. nice.

so, for the cost? it isn't worth the headaches. buy something with a bit better quality.

Item was as expected and arrived ahead of schedule I was given. I would (and probably will) buy this product again. I would also recommend the vendor. They did an excellent job for me.

"Terrific MP3 Player for my little niece"
I just purchased my second SandDisk Sansa Clip and am once again thrilled at the ease and sound of this little machine! I purchased a pink one a year ago for my 4 year old niece and just picked up a red one for my 3 year old niece. Now that they both enjoy music the "must have" their very own music! Well, this little thing not only makes me their all time Fave Aunt, but it saves me a fortune compared to other MP3 players! I was able to download music quickly and easily using windows media 11 (had to quickly update to 11), and then highlight and move from saved music file to SanDisk. No hassles, no problems! She is now wiggling to "Party in the USA", and "Somwhere over the Rainbow" as well as a few Elvis songs from her Fave Aunt! I did purchase bigger headphones for both units since the little ear buds that come with it just don't work in their little ears.

"Does as promises."
I wish this was bigger since I have so much music, but this also looks silly with anything but compact earphone/buds. :P

"so happy I got this!"
Love it! Nice sound, and really easy to use--even for an old lady like me who used to listen to everything on LP, CD, or tape.
I mostly use it for music when exercising, or for audio books. I can download them for free from my library, transfer them to the Clip, and then listen while I do chores or commute to work. The clip secures nicely to pockets/clothing.

To listen in my car, I got a cheap ($5) cassette adapter that goes in the tape player and attach the Clip and it plays through my radio.
What a great little device!

"Beware the dying OLED display!"
I bough my red Sansa Clip in August of 2008. I was looking for a small mp3 player with bookmarking capabilities, so I could listen to audiobooks, followed by listening to music, then back to the books. Well Sandisk hit a homerun with this player...almost. I has been fantastic for listening to music, podcasts and audiobooks, in fact I used it for 2-3 hours per day at least 5 days per week for the last 1 1/2 years, listening in my work truck through a Satechi Soundfly fm transmitter (best one I've found). I liked the player so much I ended up buying 3 more which I gave away as Christmas gifts. I truly thought I'd found the Holy Grail of mp3 players! That is until about a month ago when the oled display started fading from right to left, and eventually disappearing altogether after 2-3 days. Now today I have essentially an Ipod Shuffle that's more difficult to navigate. Unfortunately I failed to memorize the button pushing steps needed to navigate through music, audiobooks, and podcasts, so it's really just a dud now. I did let Sandisk know of the problem, and although they were very responsive, they wouldn't replace the unit since it's out of warranty.

Now here's the real kicker for this review, and the main reason I want to warn other potential buyers. As it turns out, the blue led phosphors that are used in the Clip and Clip plus are the color with the shortest lifespan. The most common estimate I found was around 7,000 hours. And since I didn't know of oled displays' short lifespan, I always charged the Clip using my computer, totally unaware that the extra hours the display was on while hooked up to the pc was sucking the life out of the blue oleds! Sandisk REALLY needs to emphasize the importance of charging with a wall charger, NOT in the pc.

I gave the player 3 stars for my review to be fair, because when it worked, it was my favorite player ever. The minus 2 stars is for the premature dying of the display, rendering my beloved Clip a mere potato chip bag clip.
